  • Insect repellent: Indispensable, especially when visiting Machu Picchu Mountain and Huayna Picchu.

Before going out to enjoy your tour, check the weather forecast to dress appropriately. It is a good idea to always carry a plastic rain poncho with you, as it can get you out of more than one trouble.

If you are traveling during the dry season (between May and November), don’t forget to pack:

  • Comfortable clothes: Although this area is naturally warmer, don’t forget to pack a few extra changes of clothes, you may need them later.
    Hat and sunscreen: There will be few places to find shade in Machu Picchu, let alone the hikes up Machu Picchu Mountain and Huayna Picchu!
    Trekking shoes: Remember that many of the floors in Machu Picchu are made of stone, so it may be best to leave your high heels at home.
